Community & Resources
LADA Compass doesn't (yet) host its own discussion boards. Here's where the community already gathers.
Support groups & forums
These are well-known public communities, listed as general starting points. LADA Compass hasn't personally vetted their moderation or medical accuracy, so read there the way you'd read any peer community: useful for perspective, not a substitute for your own doctor.
- TuDiabetes
A long-running general diabetes forum with an active LADA and Type 1.5 discussion community.
- r/diabetes_t2 (Reddit)
Where a lot of the misdiagnosis-turned-LADA stories on this site's blog originated as discussions.
- Beyond Type 1
A nonprofit resource hub covering Type 1 and LADA, with community forums and educational content.
Finding an endocrinologist or antibody testing
GAD65 antibody and C-peptide tests are standard blood draws that most primary care doctors can order directly, no specialist referral required. If yours is reluctant, that's a reasonable thing to push on directly, and a fair reason to ask for a referral to an endocrinologist instead. If you don't already have one, your insurance provider's directory or a general search for "endocrinologist" plus your location is the usual starting point; there isn't yet a LADA-specific specialist finder worth pointing to here.
